1938. The year when Kerala State Road Transport Corporation, one of India's oldest state-operated public road transport services was founded. The year when University of Kerala was set up and also when Pazhengeril Varghese Oommen, a native boy from Niranam, in his early teens bid farewell to his educational stint and started trading with the produce that he collected from his ancestral home’s backyard. Certainly, it was through the then prevalent barter system for, in 1938, the First Reserve Bank notes had just been issued.
This new system didn’t reach an almost unmapped tiny hamlet, Niranam, until much later. Pursuing his early-fathomed dream further, our avid founder started off with plans to expand to the nearby town Alappuzha. Niranam being a village surrounded by water on all sides, Varghese Oommen realized he needed a boat soon to reach the suppliers in Alappuzha. Not wanting to ‘miss the boat’, he spent one too many years in toil and by 1945, he collected enough to get himself a boat. This helped him reach almost all the houses in the area connected by both land and water.
Shortly after, Varghese Oommen widened his trading practices across multiple areas including dairy and other grocery items. He continued this venture till his forever, doing what he loved the most. He always believed in giving the best quality products to his customers and it didn’t take long enough for his reputation as a well-known trader to build in Central Kerala. Later though, continuing his father’s footsteps, Oommen’s elder son started manufacturing Stainless Steel Kitchen Equipments in Bengaluru, Karnataka. The company became a renowned solution provider in the hospitality industry in India. - KARGIL EQUIPMENTS.
Before long, we further diversified and formed a company trading in Home Decor and Hospitality products called - PeeVeeO Enterprises Private Limited. Now, PeeVeeO merchandizes in sectors as Homeware, Interior Decor, and Commercial Hospitality products. We implement all the good practices of our beloved founder followed in his life - integrity in every deal, the most important ingredient for life's success.
